About Me

Hi there and welcome to my website! My name is Phil Maddocks and I am a Landscape and Cityscape photographer based in London, UK. I started this website back in 2018 as a way of sharing my photos with the world. I also started it as a way of sharing the skills I am gaining on my photography journey.  So, if you are learning photography, looking for inspiration, or someone that loves the outdoors, there will be something for you here.

Photography for me is about the adventure and going out to be creative. It is waking up at 3am to photograph a sunrise with anticipation of what the day might bring. It is a ticket and an excuse to visit places I may never have gone without it. And it is also a way of capturing moments in time that that will never be repeated.

I’ve always had an interest in photography, even from a young age. As a child I had a little red film camera which always came on holiday with us. I would take photos of anything and everything and looked forward to getting the developed photos back. In secondary school I learnt to use an SLR camera and develop black and white film in the school’s dark room. But, because of my other love (music), photography took a back seat throughout most of my childhood. It has only been within the last few years I have taken photography more seriously and decided to learn. And it has taken me to places and given me moments I could not have imagined.
